Tyre Repair
Not all punctures require a replacement tyre. Our technicians can examine your flat tyre and determine if it can be repaired.
Whether we can safely perform a tyre repair for you depends on the tyre and the damage. The tyre size, speed rating, load rating and construction are all considerations, as is the extent and location of the damage. Our tyre professionals work in full accordance with tyre repair standards set out in British Standard BS AU 159.
Damage to the side walls or shoulders makes it unsafe to perform a tyre repair on any kind of tyre. A split or cut to the central tread area can often be repaired if it is small in size and there is no damage to the reinforcement bands inside the tyre. Tyre repair then normally consists of the application of an internal plug. The maximum size of a repairable cut depends on the ratings of the tyre (and the vehicle) - the damage must be smaller as the speed rating and load rating get larger.
